After a difficult time getting pregnant, I was nervous to resume weight training once I received clearance from my Doctor after the first trimester. I had read about Erika and Belly-N-Kicks in an article in the newspaper while trying to get pregnant and I saved it for when the time came.
When I first met Erika, I knew I was in good hands!!! She is professional, sweet, energetic, and motivating!! She helped me during pregnancy to work out safely, minimize my weight gain, increase my energy level, and feel good about my growing waist line!! When I was placed on bed rest at 28 weeks, she continued to follow up with me with phone calls and e-mails, Erika was not only my trainer, she became a supportive friend!
After pregnancy, I continued to work out with Erika for several months. She helped me to regain my strength and endurance and get me back to my pre-pregnancy physique. After 3 ½ months of working out with Erika, I had lost 23 pounds and was within two pounds of reaching my goal weight. I was also able to fit back into my favorite pre-pregnancy jeans and I again had toned arms, legs, and abs.
I can not recommend Erika enough!!! She was always extremely careful and cautious while pregnant, yet she pushed me to work out hard and feel good! I will definitely be back when I’m pregnant with baby #2!!!!

My experience with Belly-n-kicks has exceeded my expectations. I started working with Erika when I was on my second trimester of my pregnancy. At first I was hesitant about the benefits of participating on a weight program through my pregnancy since I didn’t want to jeopardize my baby’s health. To my surprise it was the best decision. Not only I was able to work out all of my body muscles while pregnant but as classes progressed I had better stamina, I had more energy throughout my days and my monthly/weekly doctor’s visits had good outcome. Erika even recommended activities outside of the gym to accommodate my limitations and my lifestyle throughout the different stages of my pregnancy. When new pregnancy symptoms appeared, the one on one time on the training sessions gave me an opportunity to share my thoughts (or may I say complains) and she in turn provided input and advice based on her experience with her other clients.
For all expecting moms out there, I recommend them to consider some type of exercise regimen throughout your pregnancy, the benefits out-weight the doubts. As for me, I enjoyed working with Erika so much that my daughter Isabella Marie is 9 months old and I am still working out with her on a weekly basis.

I was
never one to eat right or exercise regularly and that

About 3 months after the birth of my daughter, my body
and my mind where in bad shape - and I knew the reason

The result was that for the 9 months that I was pregnant,
I had none of the body pains that I the first time.
The delivery was so smooth that I almost thought about
getting pregnant one more time. Erika truly helped change
my life and allowed me to have the energy and focus
I need to raise my children and feel great about myself.

Exercising
during my pregnancy?....that was a no NO, and why would
I?...if it’s the best excuse to just eat and relax!
But to be honest, it was a wonderful experience and
it made my pregnancy unbelievable; Actually, I did not
want the baby to be born, I was so happy with my belly
that we even created an awesome personality together
!!!
Before I started to workout with Erika on my 5th month,
I had already gained around 15 to 20 pounds!!!! The
4 months that we trained, I only gained 10 to 15 pounds
and felt great...not tired at all, no swelling and with
so much energy to continue shopping for the baby, organizing
the apartment and taking care of my nephew!!!
The best part of training with Erika is Erika herself,
she always has the perfect words when you feel guilty
about that brownie you just ate, or scared about the
birth; but those extra calories are burned in every
workout...of course always responsible and carefully
monitored.
I could go on and on...but lets conclude saying that
labor was only 4 hours, and I had to push only 4 times
thanks to the strong abs that I had developed during
the 4 month training program with Belly&Kicks!!!!

I trained with Erika from when I was 3 months pregnant
until my 38th week of pregnancy, and I can credit
her with helping me feel great throughout my pregnancy
and giving me the strength and stamina I needed for
a successful delivery. As a not-so-skinny person
who has lost and gained 25 pounds many times on various
diets, I was concerned that I would use my pregnancy
as an excuse to eat unhealthy foods and be lazy.
By working out with Erika, I had the motivation and
encouragement to do the right things for my body
and my baby. I can honestly say that I never felt
stronger or more fit than I did when I was pregnant..and,
considering that most of my friends have many complaints
about their body when they are pregnant, it was a
wonderful feeling!
I began training with Erika again about 6 weeks after
the arrival of my daughter. I find breastfeeding and
caring for my daughter full-time to be hard work, both
physically and psychologically. Although I am often
tired and drained when I arrive for my training sessions
with Erika, by the time I leave, both my body and mind
feel healthier and I feel rejuvenated. I know that
it will take a lot of hard work to get into great shape,
but I have full confidence that with Erika's guidance
and help I will regain my pre-pregnancy figure, and
hopefully gain an even better one!
